We seek to obey the command of Jesus to Evangelize the world and Disciple those who believe, resulting in a Church that Ministers, Fellowships, and Worships God through the power of the Spirit.

Matthew 28:19-20

Our Beginning

• On October 12, 1982, the first service of Gospel Tabernacle was held. Our founding Pastor (Leon Bible) began the Church with his wife Sheila and his daughter Angel; (their son AJ was not yet born). They had no support or connections with any other religious organizations. It was a complete work of faith! Gospel Tabernacle came into being at the direction of the Lord's direction.

• Gospel Tabernacle was begun with a Vision of ministering to the total family: (young, old, married, singles, babies, toddlers, children, teens, adults and seniors).

• Believing in the power of God upon the spoken Word, Gospel Tabernacle is a teaching church. The Word is ministered by the gifting of God’s Spirit.

• From the beginning, the Church has always reached out to all people: (red and yellow, black and white, and all denominations). This Interdenominational emphasis continues to be a hallmark of Gospel Tabernacle, (we are not against any denomination, all are welcome here). Understanding that the Church is bigger than any one local group, Gospel Tabernacle supports various outreach ministries; as well as helping to build other churches locally, in other states and around the world.

• We seek to Evangelize our community and our world, turning people to a saving knowledge of Christ.

• When people accept Christ we Disciple them to become followers of Christ in all aspects of their life.

• These disciples then come together to Minister to the lost and to each other.

• As this work of ministry takes place, our Church comes together in a wonderful Fellowship with our Lord and of course each other.

• As this process of ministry brings us all together, we realize our Lord deserves all the praise and glory. Thus, we come together to Worship God.
