Laurens Idol kicked off the 2009 season with the Top 17 finalists performing at the Little River Amphitheater on Sunday night (6/14/09).

Admission to Laurens Idol is free and the public is invited to attend and cheer on their favorite contestants. Laurens Idol is sponsored by the Laurens Parks and Recreation Department and www.GoLaurens.com .

Each finalist performed one song on Sunday night for the chance to move to the second round on Thursday, June 18.

• Voting has begun on www.GoLaurens.com and will remain open until midnight on Tuesday night.
• Two finalists will be eliminated and the Top 15 finalists will be announced on Wednesday, June 17 at 8:00am.
• The second night of Laurens Idol, featuring the Top 15 finalists, will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 6:30pm.
• Voting will open at midnight on Thursday night and will be open until midnight on Sunday night, June 21.
• The Top 10 finalists will perform on Thursday, June 25 at 6:30pm.
• Five performers will be eliminated after June 25 and the Top 5 finalists will perform on Sunday, June 28.
• The finale will take place on Friday, July 3 with the crowning of the 2009 Laurens Idol.
• The winner of Laurens Idol will receive $500.
