Psalm 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Insight on the Word

Man is God’s highest creation. He is not just the highest animal form in the evolutionary chain. No! To the contrary man is far from ever being an animal, in fact he is master and has power over all the animal kingdom. At creation man was created first, on the sixth day, therefore he could not have been produced from animals (Genesis 2:7,19).

From the beginning man was to have control over kingdoms of this earth; including creatures of the waters, creatures of the air and creatures of the land: the animal kingdom. (Genesis 1:28) Man began his authority over the animals by naming them (Genesis 2:20). Because of sin entering into the world the animals became wild and ferocious , but man is to have no fear of the animal kingdom; in fact the animals fear man (Genesis 9:2). Power over animals is not given for man to abuse animals. We are to treat them well and with respect (Deuteronomy 25:4). Indeed animals are man’s companion and helpers in this present world (Matthew 21:1-2). After the curse is lifted in the New Heavens and New Earth the animals will no longer be ferocious , but shall be tame (Isaiah 11:6-9; 65:25).

Let us not forget that Satan and demons are symbolized by wild beasts, serpents, and various creeping things. And just like man has power over the animal kingdom, these satanic powers are also under the authority of man by the power of Jesus name. (Genesis 3:15; Mark 16:17-18; Luke 10:19; Revelation 12:9).

Today, be kind to animals; fear no wild beast or creeping things; and exercise your power over all satanic forces. Have no fear for the Word of the Lord is: “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.”

Speak the Word — I fear no animals, for I have power over them! (Psalm 91:13)
