Proverbs 3:33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Insight on the Word

A zoo is a cage but a habitat is a natural environment. The natural environment of the believer is blessed of God. What greater blessing could be in a home than the presence of God Himself. “O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” (Psalm 22:3)

There is a great contrast in the home of the believer and the wicked. “The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.” (Proverbs 12:7) Not only does the believer’s home stand firm, but it flourishes. “The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.” (Proverbs 14:11) The believer’s house is filled with treasure. “In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.” (Proverbs 15:6)

In a world that is riddled with sickness and disease we have the promise of God that: “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” (Psalm 91:10) As believers we plead the Blood of Jesus: “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you,…” (Exodus 12:13)

There is something special about the dwelling place of a believer. The salvation that we have received can become a reality for every member of our household. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31)

The truth is God has and is blessing the home of those who serve Him. The question becomes are we serving the Lord? Decide to say yes and make this declaration today: “…as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15)

Speak the Word — I am just and God has blessed my home! (Proverbs 3:33)
